Disappointment comes in many forms, especially when you are a true fan. A little bit of me dies inside every time St. Louis signs a former Cub, but that is just silly, right? The bigger trouble is knowing that former Cards will play in other uniforms, but does it have to be the Royals and [...]

Ed. note: This can be said of really any post here at Pitchers Hit Eighth, but I’d like to make explicitly clear for this one in particular that these are my opinions and mine only. Others may agree or disagree with me, but this is all coming from my brain, not anyone else who [...]

Matt Capps should be thankful that Albert Pujols cannot throw a 100 mph fastball. Or that he would likely never bat versus the Cardinals in a situation to be hit anyway. Or that Albert just didn’t feel like maiming a guy who could arguably be laughed at for calling himself a closer in the first [...]

As the last few moments of the All-Star Wednesday black hole tick away, I wanted to throw some odds and ends at you.
Josh from Redbirds Row did an interview with Memphis farmhand Pete Parise on Monday. Check it out at Blog Talk Radio, or by using the handy new iTunes link image at the top [...]

I had to laugh at the headline link on ESPN.com (that’s the Eastern Seaboard Promotion Network, for those of us in the Midwest) after Tuesday night’s Cardinals – Tigers game.
The Cards exploded on offense, plating all eleven of their runs by the end of the sixth inning.
Albert Pujols had a fine game by all accounts, [...]

[Ed. note - As part of our vacation reading, I asked my Twitter buddy Jake Wagman, political reporter for the St Louis Post-Dispatch, to do a Q&A with us. Happily, Jake obliged. Extensively. We couldn't have asked for better responses. Jake gave us some great insight into the political workings that go along with a [...]
