UCB: Top 7 Prospects followup

by on September 10, 2008 · 4 comments

As a follow-up to our UCB project (well, he actually commissioned our lists) Derrick Goold of the St Louis Post-Dispatch has posted his Bird Land 7 over at STLToday.com.

Naturally, Derrick chose many different players from the rest of us, and puts up a great read.

Thanks to DG and the UCB crew for the chance to join in.

Writing about the Cardinals and other loosely associated topics since 2008, I've grown tired of the April run-out only to disappoint Cardinal fans everywhere by mid-May. I do not believe in surrendering free outs.

Deaner September 10, 2008

I just wanted to let you know that I finally got around to adding your link to my blog list over at Cardinal Nation Globe.

Keep up the good work!

Ditto Deaner – thanks for reading! (And thanks for the link, too!)

Reading Goold’s list I see the definition required having no big league experience at all. That definitely changes a list quite a bit. The one guy I’m wanting to see is Freese. We have to get a look at these guys sometime.

StLCards – I quote, from DG’s post:

“I sent them the idea of picking the top seven prospects in the Cardinals organization. Gave them no parameters.”

The definition *Derrick* used was that they had no big league experience. Such direction was not given to us as a group, thus we were left to make our own parameters.

Just for the record… 🙂

I agree, I think they’ve got a great opportunity to get a look at Freese with Glaus down, but apparently TLR likes to inflate Lopez’ error numbers.
