The response to the “STARS 4 Baby Reesa” so far has been nothing short of overwhelming. The wonderful people at Sunrise UMC who are coordinating this event have been going full speed and non-stop since early this morning. Thank you for all your patience. Despite what many people have said, there are still tickets available. The availability of the pre-sale tickets is now limited to the following as of less than an hour ago (which was actually before noon on July 16th):
- Skip Schumaker
- Mitchell Boggs
- Jack Clark
- Al Hrabosky
- Jon Jay
- Jason Motte
- Matt Carpenter
- Mike Jones
- Daniel Descalso
- Lance Lynn
You may also call now and purchase your general admission tickets, so that at least gets you through the door. For the player tickets available through the pre-sale, another 175 tickets per player will be made available on Thursday (the day of the event). In order to obtain these tickets, you will need to go through a “line ticket” process.
At 9:00 am, you may begin obtaining a “line ticket”. Once you obtain a line ticket, you may then return at 1:00 pm to stand in line to try to buy one or more of the remaining limited player tickets. The gracious hosts at Sunrise UMC will be providing a free lunch for those who purchase line tickets.
Please remember that this is really a 2-day event with a silent auction preview night on Wednesday, July 18th from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. During this preview, you may bid on 1 or more of approximately 100 auction items. To learn more about the charity auction items and the latest information, please check the Sunrise UMC site here.
You really cannot go wrong with at least bidding on something in this auction. If a Holliday, Wainwright, or Freese signed jersey isn’t your thing, then maybe you are interested in a guitar signed by George Strait or 4 tickets to see Rascal Flatts with backstage passes. Perhaps you just want to bid on a Roy Halladay signed baseball. Then again, Starlin Castro, Don Mattingly, Cole Hamels, Cliff Lee, Paul Konerko, Clayton Kershaw, Giancarlo Stanton, Carlos Gonzalez, Matt Kemp, and Tommy John have signed baseballs to be included in the auction. Personally, I’m interested in the guitar signed by the members of Lady Antebellum and the fiddle signed by Charlie Daniels, but I certainly would not say “no” to the bats signed by Mark McGwire, Carlos Beltran, Rafael Furcal, Skip Schumaker, Stan Musial or Daniel Descalso.
Cash in the quarters in your cars, rifle through the couch cushions for spare change, and break open your Teletubby piggy banks. Just don’t outbid me on the Lady Antebellum guitar.
REMINDER: The time slot for David Freese has been updated to 5:00-6:00 pm instead of the previous posted time.

P.S. It would be really, really cool to get the #STARS4BabyReesa hashtag to trend on Twitter the day of the event. Just sayin’.
