On the morning of January 19th, I started collecting links – as many as I can find with minimal effort – that discuss the Albert Pujols contract discussions. Why? Who knows, yet here they are. Oh, and to serve you all, our three loyal readers! The Daily Pujols certainly won’t be a comprehensive list, but between local, national, and blog coverage, maybe you’ll find something here you otherwise wouldn’t. Without further delay, here is today’s Daily Pujols…
Joe Strauss recaps the Pujols negotiation scenario in advance of AP’s assigned deadline, reporting that sources close to the Pujols camp indicate Mang is growing disappointed that the contract talks haven’t progressed further than wherever it is the two sides stand today. Strauss notes that at least the camps are talking again after a hiatus.
Matthew Leach wrote his recap of what is known about the negotiations to date and projects some possible suitors for Pujols should he hit free agency after the 2011 season.
Gregor Chisolm answered questions in a mailbag piece today at the Toronto Blue Jays’ website. Are they a possible landing spot for Pujols in 2012? The response indicates they may be more interested in planting Adam Lind at first base long-term.
Blogs (otherwise known today as the shameless self-promotion department)
Dennis wrote here at PH8 today a litany of ways for the Cardinals to raise additional funds to pay for a new Pujols contract. Keep it light folks, we’re here to entertain.
