The Daily Pujols – 01.31.2011

by on January 31, 2011 · 0 comments

On the morning of January 19th, I started collecting links – as many as I can find with minimal effort – that discuss the Albert Pujols contract discussions. Why? Who knows, yet here they are. Oh, and to serve you all, our three loyal readers! The Daily Pujols certainly won’t be a comprehensive list, but between local, national, and blog coverage, maybe you’ll find something here you otherwise wouldn’t. Without further delay, here is today’s Daily Pujols…

Local

Matt Sebek applies the expected percentage increase in Albert Pujols‘ salary to other ballpark items – save your pennies for those $12 Dollar Nachos folks.

Cardinal Diamond Diaries is giving away copies of AP’s new biography, written by Scott Lamb and Tim Ellsworth.  I’ve heard from a little birdie that this book is pretty good, so go sign up.  Look, the chance to win is free, which is more than I can say for those Pujols-sized Nachos.

National

Fox 4 in Kansas City spoke with Albert while he was hosting his annual hitting clinic there.  He shockingly revealed to the KC media… that he was “not here to talk about my contract.”  No word on whether the squeamish publicist was along for this trip.

Blogs

William Browning is starting to resign himself to Pujols playing somewhere else – for a “higher paying team.”  There are those who would still argue that the Cardinals are the team with maximum flexibility in AAV and years per in a Pujols contract – what do you think?

Writing about the Cardinals and other loosely associated topics since 2008, I've grown tired of the April run-out only to disappoint Cardinal fans everywhere by mid-May. I do not believe in surrendering free outs.
