Whitey, Frank, Luis, and Walter

On occasion, we’re happy to get e-mails from guys like Chris Jaffe that we consider friends of the site (since they’ve at least obviously set browser upon URL, at least in most cases) – and Chris is one who just happens to send along great links to his work at The Hardball Times.

This time, Chris passes along a link to a short bit he wrote at THT on Wednesday about four Baseball Hall of Famers all making their debut on the same date – 20,000 days exactly from this past Wednesday.

One of those fellows, Whitey Herzog, had just a bit of history with our beloved St. Louis Cardinals.

Give Chris’ bit about Whitey and his fellow three HOF’ers (who just happened to be Frank Robinson, Luis Aparicio, and Walter Alston) a read.

Thanks for the e-mail Chris!

Writing about the Cardinals and other loosely associated topics since 2008, I've grown tired of the April run-out only to disappoint Cardinal fans everywhere by mid-May. I do not believe in surrendering free outs.
