PH8 Fantasy Baseball (Week 1)

One thing I have learned from trying my hand at designing is that I’m much better at writing. So with that in mind, my weekly updates about the PH8 ESPN League are going to be quite boring in April.

Hopefully by May both the Cardinals bullpen and my art skills will have improved to the point that we aren’t talking demotion. The first week is in the books, and Nick may want to look the other way.

PH8 Week 1

Thankfully St. Louis can look at the positives of coming home with two series wins. For those teams that had a rough start, a quick turnaround may be in the works as key players are back in the fold.

Here are the Top 3 to watch for Week 2 with their owner in bold:

Jose Reyes (PH8): his return at the top of the New York lineup means just as much to Nick’s success.

Chris Carpenter (SARG): a big sigh of relief will be had if Carp takes down the Mets in his next outing.

Carlos Gonzalez (MOSE): how many games will the Rockies’ lead-off man miss with the bum hammy?

Speaking of hamstring issues, this caught my attention even though I doubt anyone is fighting to add a back-up catcher to their team. It has been an interesting first week of play to say the least, but my guess is things are just getting started.

Loyal to a fault, I was taught to never give up on your team. The Cardinals have much to look forward to in '13, and my family has already planned a number of trips to Springfield and even farther up the I-44. This year will start and end with #6, however, as St. Louis will have an extra fan watching from above - RIP Stan the Man
