[Ed. Note: Better late than never, we always say at PH8…]
The National League West might be the MLB division most up for grabs in 2010. The three teams at the top all have question marks in their own right, and it’s likely that whichever can cover its warts best will wind up in the playoffs.
- Colorado Rockies
- Los Angeles Dodgers
- San Francisco Giants
- Arizona Diamondbacks
- San Diego Padres
Rockies: Consistency is the key for the Rocks. They must start the season like they finished for manager Jim Tracy if they are to win the West. … Dodgers: If the Dodgers want to win this division, they’re likely going to have to do it with the players they have. The messy divorce between Frank and Jamie McCourt threatens the well-being of this franchise similar to the fate of the rival Padres. … Giants: With one of the strongest pitching staffs in the league, San Francisco figures to be in a lot of games, but who will score and/or drive in the runs to win them? … Diamondbacks: Arizona has a young team with a lot of promise, but it’s promise for a future season. … Padres: PETCO is a beautiful ballpark and the weather is always nice. I hope they get a boatload of prospects for Adrian Gonzalez.
