NLDS

St. Louis Cardinals (90-66) versus Los Angeles Dodgers (93-64)

NLDS

Colorado Rockies (88-68) versus Philadelphia Phillies (90-66)

—–

The Phillies and Dodgers continue to play similar to the Cards, that is, relatively poorly compared to their prior months.  Philly is 4-6 in their last ten, with the Cards and Dodgers both 5-5.

Philadelphia would get the second seed today, by virtue of their 4-1 record versus the Cardinals this season.

The Cards still have Cincinnati and Milwaukee on the schedule, Philly has Houston and Florida.

It would take a nasty losing spell by the Dodgers at this point for them to relinquish the number one seed, but the Wild Card is still far from over.  Atlanta is hot on the tail of the Rockies, winning seven in a row to pull within two games of Colorado.

There are still races left folks!

Writing about the Cardinals and other loosely associated topics since 2008, I've grown tired of the April run-out only to disappoint Cardinal fans everywhere by mid-May. I do not believe in surrendering free outs.

Never know… it could be argued that the Cards have an easier remaining 6 than the Phils.

Strikingly, the Phillies are 0-5 versus Houston so far this season. The ‘Stros could really help the Cards out.
