Shelby Miller making debut with Quad Cities

by on September 3, 2009 · 2 comments

The Cardinals’ top draft pick this season, Shelby Miller, is making his first start as a professional in the Cards minor league system tonight for the Quad Cities River Bandits versus the Beloit Snappers.

Ok, so Miller will only throw one inning, but the buzz is loud.  The hype is fervent.

Minor League radio broadcasts are still free, and you can listen live to the Bandits game and Miller’s performance via this link.

Tune in to the game tonight, then find what I’m sure will be complete coverage and in-depth analysis from the studs at Future Redbirds tomorrow morning.

Writing about the Cardinals and other loosely associated topics since 2008, I've grown tired of the April run-out only to disappoint Cardinal fans everywhere by mid-May. I do not believe in surrendering free outs.

It’s all about planting the seed for next year. Giving him a taste is good for him.

Agreed. Get him with the team, the coaches. The Cardinals also promoted C Robert Stock, also from this year’s draft class, to QC as well. Seems they want to have those two together.
