All-Star Break catch-all

by on July 15, 2009 · 4 comments

As the last few moments of the All-Star Wednesday black hole tick away, I wanted to throw some odds and ends at you.

Friday we’re back to business – Chris Carpenter versus Arizona’s Jon Garland.  I know who I’ll be rooting for…

UPDATE: Heh.  Apparently either Joe reads this blog and/or others sniffed out his double-dip on the 2008 blog post and his article in the KC Star.  Blog post appears to have been deleted, so I changed the link above to go to Google’s cached page of it.  Thanks Google!  Also, here’s a new one from Poz at his blog.

Writing about the Cardinals and other loosely associated topics since 2008, I've grown tired of the April run-out only to disappoint Cardinal fans everywhere by mid-May. I do not believe in surrendering free outs.

Agreed, couldn’t ask for anything more from Carp as well. Giving up nothing but singles is awesome!

Nick, got to tell you that I’m glad to see the Halladay talk can go away as well. No way Rasmus is included in any deal, and I really think Wallace can help out this season.

DeRosa will be the key in my opinion, especially since Glaus is causing more questions than answers…

I wouldn’t completely dismiss the Halladay talk just yet. I think he will either stay in Toronto, or they will wind up moving him for less than their original expectation because they’ve already “committed”. Don’t quote me.

If DeRo can really make it happen after this weekend – call me a believer.

Nick, you almost have me converted over to Twitter. After seeing tonight’s lineup?, I just about went over and signed up. Wow, I truly hope TLR knows what he is doing…

Hey, even Colby’s gotta sit once in a while. Besides, Razzle hadn’t been running so hot himself. I didn’t have a huge problem with it.

Besides, ole Ricky actually put a couple in play last night!
