PHE 1Q Interview: Matt Sebek

by on May 5, 2009 · 2 comments

[Ed. note – below is one of a series of one question interviews completed before we left for vacation. Please keep in mind as you read that we are still cutting our chops asking “hard hitting questions” so I hope you all find these interesting. Today’s interviewee is Matt Sebek from Joe Sports Fan and St Louis Tailgate. Today we focus a bit on the latter.  Thanks Matt!]

PH8: What is the best pre-game spot to hit before a Cards game?

Matt Sebek: Telling Cardinals fans that you enjoy someplace other than Paddy O’s is like telling those same fans that you don’t like scrappy little white ball players with funny names like “Bo” or “Stubby” or “Skip”. Truth be told, I’ve never been a big Paddy O’s guy. Ridiculous prices, long waits, terrible toilets/patron ratio, no parking and the beacon for drunken frat boys.

In my ripe age of 27, I would much rather hit up Flannery’s on Washington Ave. before a game. You can practically park anywhere (for free) and grab Brian McGowan’s shuttle bus from Flannery’s and enjoy a frosty cold one on the way to the game. The bus rivals some of the best karaoke bars in the area. Who doesn’t love a little Bon Jovi on the way to watch the Cards? I know I do.

Matt Sebek can usually be found making folks laugh and rating baseball mustaches at Joe Sports Fan and Saint Louis Tailgate.

Writing about the Cardinals and other loosely associated topics since 2008, I've grown tired of the April run-out only to disappoint Cardinal fans everywhere by mid-May. I do not believe in surrendering free outs.

Well that must be because your a douche. Paddy O’s is the best place to be! brand new HUGE bathrooms 5 beer tubs located throughout the outside. It’s just the best place to go. and the DJ rocks the place all night! and the beer aint that high. if 4$ is to much for you, maybe you should just stay home.

Well then!

It appears Matt’s response has generated quite the response from our Paddy O’s employee readers.

Thanks for the input Ed!
