Cards trade Brian Barton for Blaine Boyer

The Cardinals have made a move to bolster (???) their bullpen, in the wake of several rough outings for the season.

{{bbref|b/bartobr|Brian Barton}}, a Rule 5 draft selection a year ago, is headed to the Atlanta Braves for right-handed relief pitcher {{bbref|b/boyerbl|Blaine Boyer}}.

Boyer hasn’t been a world-beater, but maybe Dave Duncan sees something he can work with?

Perhaps the bigger question?  Who goes down to make room for Boyer (assuming they made this deal to put him on the big league roster)?
