He had a down year last season, and with teams being more hesitant to hand out big contracts, Garland may have to do that kind of deal. BUT, $12 mil per year seems like too much. The Cardinals have a lot of innings eater types now, with Lohse signed. What about a true 1/2 to go behind Wainwright? That's what kills me about this team.
