I'd probably be upset if teams were throwing money around while the average fan was tightening his belt. It's also relieving to see that other teams are being just as slow to start. I think the Cards are waiting *just like everyone else* to see where the market is going to fall this off-season. Players like Abreu, KRod, etc are all staring $8m per year in the face right now, when 6 months ago, you wouldn't have sniffed them for less than $12m. I figure we have at least enough players so that we can fill up a lineup card and put a few on the field each inning, and beyond that what do you really need anyway? Right?
