Chris Young took a line drive off of the face tonight against the Cards. It appeared that it caught him in the nose, rather than a more frightening Juan Encarnacion-type eye shot.
The San Diego telecast on MLB.tv would not show a replay, but the live shots showed quite a bit of blood coming from Young’s nose/face as he immediately dropped to his seat. Young walked off the field under his own power.
On a bit lesser note, but also worthy of mention, hopefully Josh Bard is able to make it back this season after getting his legs nastily tied up in a play at the plate.
