Anti-Izzy part Two

{{bbref|s/schumsk|Skip Schumaker}} has ex-OR-cised the demons!  {{bbref|p/perezch|Chris Perez}} had another solid outing, only needing 5 pitches to get through the top of the ninth and earn his first big-league win.

What a great weekend for the Cardinals and their fans.  {{bbref|m/musiast|Stan Musial}}, all-time Cardinal great, was honored today with Stan Musial Day, they unveiled a new plaza at Busch III based around his statue, they named part of Eighth Street after him, and to top it all off – he saw a winner.  The ‘Birds took two of three from the Rays, arguably MLB’s hottest team coming into the weekend.

There are still issues.  The Cards left the bases loaded three times again today.  They lead MLB in men left-on-base by a large margin.  They are still swinging at too many first pitches (at least in the opinion of this writer).  The bullpen was passable today, but another home run allowed by {{bbref|p/parismi|Mike Parisi}}.

A win is a win is a win.  Let’s string a few more together boys…

Hello. I’m a Cub fan and was instructed to leave some fodder for the Cards fans in attendance. Not much to give right now, as I’m impressed that the Cards are playing so well despite Todd Wellemeyer in your starting rotation. LaRussa and Duncan can do more with less than most coaches in MLB. I don’t think it will last, but what do I know?
